Coconut oil is very much nutritious and it has achieved a reputation for maintaining the health.

  • Fats: Coconut oil contains fat, and no carbohydrates and proteins are found in coconut oil. In every 100g of coconut oil 86g of saturated fat can be found. And the remaining 5.8g is monounsaturated fat and the rest 1.8 g is polyunsaturated. The saturated fats of coconut oil contain stearic acid and lauric acid. They may be beneficial to health.
  • Mineral: The major mineral present in coconut oil is iron. And in every 100g of coconut oil 0.05 mg iron is found.
  • Nutrients: The richest nutrient of coconut oil is choline. In every 100g of coconut oil, 0.4 mg choline is found.
  • Vitamins: Coconut oil does not include a lot of vitamins. The major vitamins are vitamin K and vitamin E.

Vitamin K: Coconut oil contains vitamin K. In every 100 gram of oil of coconut, only 0.4 mcg of vitamin K can be found. Vitamin K helps in blood clotting and produces proteins which are essential to make bones healthy. But coconut oil can’t be considered as the major supply of vitamin K

Vitamin E: Coconut oil contains vitamin E. Vitamin E is also well-known as gamma-tocopherol. In 100gram of coconut oil, 0.19 mg of vitamin K can be found. Vitamin e is very much helpful in treating various diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s diseases, male infertility, premenstrual syndrome, sunburn and many more. Daily intake of 15mg vitamin E for people more than 14 years of age is very much beneficial and is recommended by physicians. Coconut oil can’t be considered as the major supply of vitamin E.

Vitamin D: Coconut oil also contains vitamin D. Vitamin D is very helpful. It decreases the danger of cancer. Vitamin D is very much helpful in maintaining the strength of teeth and bones. It improves the efficiency and strength of immune system of human being. It decreases the risk of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Vitamin D helps in regulating the sugar level of blood. It also assists in preventing the high blood pressure.
